Burrendah Primary School supports the following principles selected from the Department of Education’s Dress Code Policy, 2018.
Dress codes are tangible evidence of the standards expected of students and play an important role in promoting positive images of schools. A school’s dress code supports all students to participate fully in school life. Dress codes can help create a sense of identity and a school culture in which every student experiences a sense of belonging.
Rationale
The Burrendah Primary School Board and community support a strict dress code, and there is an expectation that students will wear the school uniform, including a hat. We believe that the wearing of a school uniform establishes a positive tone within our school, and encourages a sense of pride. When groups are visiting or students are representing the school at other venues and events, it is important to represent our school positively.
